Painting and Restoration Project on this Alameda, CA Victorian.

Signature Painting and Construction is well known for its painting and construction services catering towards Victorian restoration projects.  Here is a project we recently completed on 1349 Regent Street in Alameda, CA.  This Victorian needed both extensive wood replacement and a full and thorough preparation prior to painting.  A lot of the detailed wood pieces needed to be milled, all of which we did in house.  Most carpenters and painters will have to get this milled decorative pieces from specialty lumber stores where they are very expensive.  We are able to save our clients a significant amount of money be performing this type of work in house.  This house had not been painted in over 15 years so the preparation was extremely extensive.  For two weeks our crew scraped and sanded all the loose or peeling areas of paint to give the home the uniform and protected look it has now.  We also had to bondo certain areas for cosmetic purposes.  After the house was completely prepped out our painters applied a full oil-based primer on all surfaces and we then applied two coats of Benjamin Moore’s premium exterior paint.  This house will look beautiful and be protected for many years to come.

Fairfield, CA Exterior Painting Project

By · March 30, 2010 · Filed in Completed Jobs · No Comments »

We recently completed this beautiful home in Green Valley.  It had been over ten years since this home had been painted, so needless to say this home needed a lot of prep work.  Upon starting the job we also found some rotten work that needed to be replaced.  Luckily, Signature Painting is a licensed general contractor and was able to handle all of the wood replacement at a very reasonable price to the homeowner.  We ended up painting the body of the home in KM Wood Moss, the trim in Keystone, and the accent in Oxford Brown.  The colors go really well with the surrounding landscape.  In the end the homeowners were very happy with the work we did, and will have a home that will be protected and look great for years to come.  Give us a call today if you are looking for a painter in Fairfield, CA or Green Valley, CA.

Interior Painting in Walnut Creek, CA

Here is an example of an interior paint job in Walnut Creek, CA that we recently completed.  Prior to painting we had to remove all of the popcorn ceilings throughout the house and re-texture to match the existing texture on the walls.  Once this is was done we went ahead and primed all of the areas that were scraped in order to prepare those areas to be painted.  During this job we discovered several areas where the sheetrock had rotted away due to moisture coming down through the ceiling from a previous leak that the homeowner had found.  Because of this we had to replace a significant amount of sheetrock, re-tape, texture, prime, and paint these areas.  There was also some wallpaper that needed to be removed.  One of the benefits of hiring Signature Painting is that we are capable of doing much more than just painting.  This allows our clients to have a one shop stop for many of their construction needs.  Give us a call today if you are looking for a Painting Contractor or General Contractor in Walnut Creek, CA.  We service all of Contra Costa and Alameda County.

Ranch Home Exterior Painting – Oakland, Ca

By · January 21, 2010 · Filed in Completed Jobs · No Comments »

This lovely ranch style home in the Oakland hills was in dire need of a fresh paint job for both cosmetic and functional purposes.  The dated colors no longer fit in with the neighboring homes and the failing paint created a great deal of exposed wood on the trim.  The brown composite shingle roof also limited the color selection, as the paint must match the roof and the homeowner wanted their home to blend in to the block, not stick out like a sore thumb!  Two coats of Kelly Moore Spanish Sand in 1245 low sheen makes pressure washing and yearly upkeep a painless process that will extend the life of the paint job.  If you are looking for a painting contractor in Oakland, please feel free to call Signature Painting for all your Alameda County painting needs.
