Redwood House Re Painted in Tiburon CA

After watching the type of job we did on his neighbor’s (John Heper) home, Bob was eager to have us come over and paint his beautiful home. We love referral work so we were happy to oblige. The redwood shingles on the south west side of Bobs house take the brunt of the weather so we made sure to scrape and sand them really well, applied a Zinsser Oil based primer, and followed that with two coats of Kelly Moore 1240 series flat exterior paint. Bob was a happy camper and recommended us to his neighbors, who you will hear about in our next blog!

Stucco House Repainted in Tiburon CA
John and Caroline Heper -126 Saint Thomas Way, Tiburon CA
John and Caroline had some serious issues due to the high moisture levels around their home, which is located directly on the San Francisco bay. Old caulking around windows and extensive stucco cracking were major issues on this home. After cutting the old failing caulk from the seams around the windows, we re-caulked the seams using Kel-Seal 50 year Elastomeric caulking to ensure that the seams would stay sealed for years to come. Since most of the cracking in the stucco was small hairline fractures, we applied the same caulking. For older, more prominent cracks, we broke the cracks out, patched the stucco and sealed the patches with Perma Patch 101 elastomeric sealant. An extensive prep job followed by a thick coat of Kel-Seal Terpolymer elastomeric paint will keep the Heper home sealed and beautiful for years to come.

Duplex Painting in Sausalito CA

John wanted to sell his duplex in the beautiful Sausalito hillside, with lots of property on the market he felt it was important to update the colors and clean up the appearance of the property. We’ve painted many houses that were about to go on the market and have a good idea what buyers like to see, so with our guidance John picked a nice clean grey and white color scheme that updated the look of the house. The project was recently completed and we are anxious to see if he can get a buyer in quickly with the new paint job. Mildew Removal and House Painting in Tiburon CA

The Berman family home was experiencing mildew problems on the North side of the home as well as under the eaves. The stucco siding was literally soaking up the mildew, creating stains and allowing the mildew to penetrate the surface. After using BioKleen multi enzyme cleaner to kill the mold spores on the home, we applied a Zinnser stain blocking primer with a mildecide and followed it with a solid coat (sprayed and backrolled) of Kel-Seal Terpolymer elastomeric paint. The finish on the elastomeric paint does not allow the mildew to penetrate as easily as the flat exterior paint as well as allowing for the home to be pressure washed once a year to keep the house looking clean and the paint looking fresh!

After a leaky roof wreaked havoc on the wood in Rosemarie’s eaves, we came in and helped solve the problem before we painted her home. We removed the dry rot affected wood, treated the surrounding areas with Copper Green to ensure the rot would not spread, and replaced the wood with high quality, fully primed doug fir. Once the rot was replaced, an extensive prep job and two coats of paint, Rosemaries house is sealed up and ready to withstand all types of weather for years to come. Dr. Chan was changing the color of his home from a dirty brown to a clean, updated Plymouth Gray. In addition to the color change and update, the color scheme of the house (locations of colors) was busy and needed some updating itself. With some input from our trained eyes, Dr Chan decided to eliminate some of the semi gloss trim work that had been pinstriping his home for years. The result is a clean, well balanced paint job that is easy on the eyes and accentuates the more attractive parts of the home. Exterior house painting and deck staining in Walnut Creek, CA
At Signature Painting, it is our ultimate goal to satisfy out customers. Usually this is a relatively easy thing to do, but there are times when we have to go the extra mile. The first part of the job was to paint the exterior of their ranch style home which was two stories in the back over looking a beautiful view of Walnut Creek. When my painters Yama and Burt were finish, like always I did a walk around with the clients. No kidding, we couldn’t find a single touch up! After painting the home it was time to stain a large exterior deck in the back of the house and stain the front porch. The deck came out great but front porch did not work out so well. The paint store accidental gave us the wrong product, solid stain instead of semi-solid stain. As a result we ended up having to spend three days stripping the porch and then restain with a different product then they had actually chosen in the beginning. In the end the Obendorf’s were very happy. Here’s what they had to say:
My wife Margie and I are very satisfied with the work done by Signature Painting. They painted the entire exterior of our two story house and stained our large lower deck and front porch. They were professional, courteous and great to work with, and the work was first rate. Their estimates were reasonable and they stood by them. The only glitch was when the wrong stain was applied to the front porch. Even though this was due to a mistake on the part of the store where the paint was purchased, Signature Painting stepped up to the plate. They spent several days removing the old stain, and worked with us to obtain and apply a stain we were happy with, which turned out to be different than the original stain we had chosen. Even though it involved considerable expense and inconvenience on their part, Signature did the right thing and made us happy customers.

San Francisco Painting- Exterior Re-Paint
This large San Francisco duplex needed a lot of work done to say the very least. This project needed a good portion of the house scraped, sanded, and primed as a lot of the old paint was failing. A lot of the windows also needed to be re-glazed. While projects like this can be challenging they are often our favorite jobs to take on simple because of how great the home looks when we are finished. We used Kelly Moore colors: Chadwick on the Body, Malibu Beige as the accent, and Swiss Coffee on the trim.
