Lakeshore – Piedmont CA Exterior Paint Job – Oakland Area
In case you haven’t noticed we have painted numerous homes in the Lakeshore/Piedmont areas of Oakland. This exterior painting project required a lot of prep work. Like most of our jobs we began by pressure washing the interior house and treating all mildew areas with a project call Bio-Kleen. This product is a replacement to TSP (which is what most painting companies uses), because it actually suffocates the mildew preventing it from coming back. It is also 100% biodegradable and safe for kids and animals. After that we waterproofed the entire house with high grade sealants and filled all cracks in the stucco with an elastomeric sealant. We scraped and sanded wherever there was loose or filling paint, primed the appropriate areas, then applied two coats of elastomeric paint to all stucco areas and KM 1250 to all wood areas. Mildew Removal and House Painting in Tiburon CA

The Berman family home was experiencing mildew problems on the North side of the home as well as under the eaves. The stucco siding was literally soaking up the mildew, creating stains and allowing the mildew to penetrate the surface. After using BioKleen multi enzyme cleaner to kill the mold spores on the home, we applied a Zinnser stain blocking primer with a mildecide and followed it with a solid coat (sprayed and backrolled) of Kel-Seal Terpolymer elastomeric paint. The finish on the elastomeric paint does not allow the mildew to penetrate as easily as the flat exterior paint as well as allowing for the home to be pressure washed once a year to keep the house looking clean and the paint looking fresh!
