Exterior Re-Paint in Paradise Cay in Tiburon, CA
This home is located in the Paradise Cay neighborhood of Tiburon, CA. For any of you that know the area, houses in this location take a beating from the weather due to the fact that they are right on the bay. One of the most common problems we see is extensive mildew growth and the tenancy for the trim to fail. To take care of the mildew problem we treated the house with a product called BioKleen. BioKleen is much more effective then bleach and TSP which most contractors will use and it is also 100% biodegradable. After learning the hard way early on in my career what can happen when human skin is exposed to TSP and bleach I searched for a better solution. After pressure washing and treating the home with BioKleen we then went around and scraped all the loose and peeling paint, waterproofed the home with high quality sealants, sanded down the necessary areas, and then applied a high quality exterior prime to provide a good foundation for the finishing coats. One of the problems we ran into during the preparation was that we found several trim and fascia boards that were rotten. We brought this to our clients attention and was able to replace the necessary wood at a very reasonable price (probably half of what a general contractor would have charged). We then put two coats on the home to assure they get a paint job that will last. The body on this home was Chadwick and the trim was Swiss Coffee, both from Kelly Moore Paints.
